As the temperature drops my excitement grows...

By September, I begin watching scary movies. Halloween will get here faster if you do that, right?

October is finally here!

I love all versions of Halloween; funny, cute, scary. It's all exciting to me.
Applique Recycle bagsThis year, I wanted to make trick-or-treat bags for my nieces. I try to practice what I teach them, recycle and reuse what I can. So, I found some old recycle bags and appliqued them. Since they only use them for a short time, I didn't even stitch them down. I let the fusible do all the work.

This is a perfect time to repurpose some of my old reusable bags and use up some of my small bits of fabric.

One of my nieces is younger and loves fun Halloween so I made her a happy jack-o-lantern.

The other is older and loves scary Halloween so she gets to scare her friends with a bloody hand print.

This is the first time I've tried putting them on bags and loved making them. They were easy and fast (I made them both in one day). Kind of like making your own fabric stickers and ironing them down!

Not to mention if the girls ruin them, while out and about, there's no worries.

Thank you for listening to me and my musings.
