Cut your background fabric a little bigger than the overall size approx. 25”x 17” first. This is the fabric you will put all of the other pieces on top of. Then cut and place the other cat fur pieces on top of the black. You can set the black (A) pieces aside. You don’t need to place the black eye and nose pieces that are in the pattern, the background is already black. You don’t need black on black. :)
Once your applique pieces are fused to the background, stitch with a straight stitch around each piece with matching thread. Add your embroidery lines now or when quilting.
Trim to square, then add a 2 1/2” border.
Add batting and backing and quilt as desired.
